Matt 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

God wants us to live in such a way that we do not hold grudges, we do not seek aggression nor vengance, and we don’t constantly seek conflict and friction with others. Forgiveness is key in our spiritual life. So then, God conditions us for divine forgiveness for our sins, by allowing offenses to happen in our life, and he sees how we react. Without forgiveness as a foundation in our lives forming part of our moral character, we cannot receive divine forgiveness for our own sins. Embracing Christ is embracing forgiveness as a concept in our lives. As we have learned forgiveness and exercise it in our own relationships, thus God forgives us, that is God’s promise (or threat). Scary thought! Forgiveness is not something we just want for OUR sins, but it is something that we believe in like Jesus’ death and resurrection. It is a practiced way of life for us. God sees that in how you forgive those that have aggression against you. Let it go! Forgive!

__________

It is not an impossible fight!

1Pet 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

With the increase of pornography and the constant lowering of standards, sexual temptation has become one of the principal problems for Christians. It is a spiritual fight so intense that almost every Christian has it. This fight is not impossible to win, but it is very difficult.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

They asked King Alphonso 1st the Great, King of Aragon and Pamplona, “Who is the person most happy in all the world?” He answered “he who has abondoned himself giving himself over to the will of God, he that accepts all thing, blessings or adversity as coming from God’s hands.”

Those who are truly happy are those that encounter satisfaction and joy in the idea that they have complied with the will of God the Father, whether it is involved with pleasure and personal blessing, or with suffering and affliction. Continue reading

In God hears the contrite, we examine the problem of why God does not hear some prayers, but actually, He does hear, but he doesn’t act on those prayers. This is because of the attitude and life of the person praying, he is arrogant and not contrite and humble. pc16 Why Christians shouldn’t use drugs?

In pc16 Why Christians shouldn’t use drugs? we examine what is a biblical position about hallucinogenic drug use. The Bible condemns this kind of drug use as being a doorway to the demonic world. It is regularly used in witchcraft and wicked, pagan religions to “communicate with the spirits”, and we offer help in the form of Bible verses to break the addiction to drugs.

All things are lawful unto me,
but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
1Cor 6:12

It is very sad to see that the use of hallucinogenic drugs is already very common, even among some Christians. Let me clarify and limit this tract to illegal drugs, those not with a doctor’s prescription for a disease. When a doctor prescribes aspirin for a headache, this drug is legitimate and restores health. This tract deals with illegal drug use for recreational and entertainment purposes.

Two out of every 3 young people in high school have tried an illegal drug before they graduate. If we consider alcohol as a drug (and it is), then this rate rises to 90%. 30% have tried a drug stronger than marihuana. The first cause of death among youth 15 to 24 is drunk driving. Continue reading

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; Ecc 12:1

The Rock group called “The Suicide Girls” make money by promoting the concept of suicide. In fact, there are fads among our youth like the Emus which also promote this concept among our youth as something really great. These elements are floating around among our youth which glamorize suicide, such as a game where they actually hang themselves in their closet, and then remove the rope before actually dying to see how close to death they can get. Many times they err and actually die before they can free themselves. The culture among these groups is a study of suicide to worship it and promote suicide pacts making it romantic and desirable.

In 1995 in the United Status, the CDC in Atlanta did a study on suicide among 10,904 high school students. In the 12 months before the study, 24% had seriously thought of suicide, and 17.7% had actually a specific plan of how to do it, and 8.7% had tried to do it, and 2.8% had been somehow injured in their attempts. There is a suicide in the US every 17 minutes. It is the 11th cause of death in the general population, and it is the 3rd cause of death among youth (15-24), after accidents (1st), and homicide (2nd). There are more suicide deaths in the general population than homicides. ((http://www.suicide.org/suicide-statistics.html))

pc61 Resisting Peer Pressure, Christian Cowards

pc61 Resisting Peer Pressure, Christian Cowards. We analyze the pressure of unsaved friends on the Christian.

Exodus 23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment.

Many Christians seem defenseless when there is a lot of pressure from their friends or acquaintances to get them to “go along” with incorrect things, or in what doesn’t please God.

To be a Christian, the person absolutely has to have moral strength and courage to stand against the world and even against his friends at times, to declare what God says in the Bible as this is what we have to do, and definitely declare that the Bible way is what the Christian will do, even if there is a lot of pressure from others to do incorrect things. Pleasing God overrules pleasing friends.

1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called Paul warned Timothy to protect himself from profane and vain babblings. Vanity is something that does not have value in eternity, and as such, it is not real, it is a lie, or it is involved in lies and deceptions. There is a thing which is called “a false science.” Science in our day is considered a recognition of proven principles by scientists which are repeated by unassociated people which confirm the results by parallel experiments, always with the same results.  Science is made with these scientific principles that have been formulated by investigations and research, which can be measured. To do “science” with presumptions but without research that can be repeated with the same results just is not science at all.

Psychology tries to solve life’s problems, but without the context or consideration of what God says. It is used INSTEAD OF THE BIBLE. Even “Christian Psychology” mixes the principles of psychology with the Bible, seeking biblical texts to support the principles of psychology. This is not valid. Using psychology causes the counselor to reject God and His wise counsel, giving authority instead to man’s ideas.
