We know by his Word that God exists. The statement of his existence is clearly declared within the Scriptures, and if we want to be excessively ridiculous about the matter, of course, we cannot prove a universal negative, that “God does not exist” either. Short of dragging God from wherever he is to appear in front of a person, we cannot make God’s presence for the sake of somebody who won’t obey God anyway. We have to just take God at his Word. “Theodicy” is a concept which tries to explain how evil can exist in a world where God has everything in the palm of his hand, and this God is good, generous, all powerful, and has a good disposition toward human beings.

The Bible clearly plants the idea that God is in total control of everything, and that God is good. So, accordingly the logical question is: How can evil exist then? Why doesn’t God intervene to stop all evil?

The answer that one gives to this will come from his understandings about God, and this will basically model his reaction to “bad things” that happen in his life.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. God created the world and the universe, including all the things in them, including spiritual things like angels, demons, etc. Why is it so difficult to accept that God is the Creator? We should not overlook what this statement means, its implications.

If God created something, then He is the Owner and the “God” over it, that is, He can decide the disposition of it. God as Creator has the right and authority to command this thing and control it, demand obedience and worship from it. If we talk about a stone, no problem. If we talk about my personal life, many do not want to accept this statement.
