Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Col 4:5

We ask ourselves at times why some of our brethren always arrive late to the house of God. The world we live in grows more complicated and entangled every day, and the demands on our lives and time also grow every day. At times it seems that we will never reach something what appears like peace and tranquility. When we touch on this problem, it is only tip of the iceberg.

We need to take time to reflect and meditate on what we are doing, how we live our lives, and above all, how we relate to our God. The plan and work of Satan is to never allow us peace and calm so that we can reflect, meditate, and order our lives after what pleases God.

Why we don’t use Cell Groups
The Church Growth Methodology of Cell Groups

Problems:

• It isn’t the biblical model nor example.
• It is for personal glorying and Blasting.
• It doesn’t permit the proper Leadership formation.
• Promotes women in Leadership over men.
• It removes the local pastor as example.
• It steals sheep from other churches.

There is nothing wrong with having Bible studies in homes, but as long as those teaching are fully qualified. Bigness for bigness sake is wrong. When this growth means teachers and leaders are installed without concern about their testimony nor their doctrine, this becomes a sinful situation.

doct03 Do Heaven & Hell really exist?

Hell really exist

Do Heaven and Hell really Exist according to the Bible?

by David Cox

Why is this Issue so Important?

There are religious groups and individuals that believe that neither heaven nor hell exists. For them, everybody goes to the grave, and at this moment their existence ends. To deny the existence of heaven is to deny the possibility of salvation, eternal life, or a place and experience of eternal happiness after death. Heaven represents the reward God gives to those that obey Him, and it even represents God and his promises to us. To deny the existence of hell is to deny that an Almighty God exists, that God is a just Judge, and that He is holy. Hell represents the punishment of God on those that refuse His will. God is a judge that judges men about moral matters. God does not permit sin in His presence; neither does he allow sinners to escape with a “ceasing to exist” (annihilation). God punishes them in a place of extreme punishment called “hell.”

God’s Home

In the concepts of the ancients, there were actually three places called “heaven”.

The first heaven is the air above the earth (this is also “up” for those who live on earth) Mat 24:31; Mark 6:41; 13:27; Luke 4:25; 9:16; 17:24; 29; 18:13; John 6:31-33; 17:1; Acts 1:10-11; (this heaven gives rain Acts 14:17; James 5:18).

The second heaven is where the sun and stars reside Mat 24:29-30; 26:64; Mark 13:25; Luke 21:11, 26.

pc23 Forgiving as we are forgiven

Forgiving as we are Forgiven

Matt 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

God wants us to live in such a way that we do not hold grudges, we do not seek aggression nor vengance, and we don’t constantly seek conflict and friction with others. Forgiveness is key in our spiritual life. So then, God conditions us for divine forgiveness for our sins, by allowing offenses to happen in our life, and he sees how we react. Without forgiveness as a foundation in our lives forming part of our moral character, we cannot receive divine forgiveness for our own sins. Embracing Christ is embracing forgiveness as a concept in our lives. As we have learned forgiveness and exercise it in our own relationships, thus God forgives us, that is God’s promise (or threat). Scary thought! Forgiveness is not something we just want for OUR sins, but it is something that we believe in like Jesus’ death and resurrection. It is a practiced way of life for us. God sees that in how you forgive those that have aggression against you. Let it go! Forgive!

bs01 Principles of Interpretation of Holy Scripture

Principles of Interpretation of
Holy Scripture

By David Cox

[bs01] v1 ©2009 www.coxtracts.com
This tract may be reproduced for free distribution

There are principles from God that guide us as to how we are to interpret the Bible. We have to observe these so that we can understand Scripture as God wants. Cults and groups with unbiblical doctrines and practices always try to twist these principles for their viewpoints, but we must insist on observing them, and they will guide us to the truth of God. Hermeneutics (principles of interpretation) are what give structure and form to the Word of God, understanding and clarity of communication so that we truly understand well the Word of God. pc07 Fasting: Fixing your Life with God

Fasting: Fixing your Life with God

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8

Fasting has different meanings for different people. The Bible presents fasting as much as a spiritual exercise as much it is just not eating. In Mat 4:2 we see that Jesus fasted 40 days and 40 nights, and then he was hungry.

Fasting is something that there is not a whole lot of instructions about it, but it seems that everyone knows what it is, and many practice fasting. The Bible binds the concepts many fasts and spirituality. The strong Christian is someone who fasts and prays a lot.

“Fasting helps us to express, to deepen, and to confirm the commitment that we are ready to sacrifice whatever thing, even to sacrifice ourselves, in order to obtain what we seek from God.” Andrew Murray Continue reading

doct02 Trinity: 1 God in 3 Persons

The Trinity: There is one God in Three Persons

[d02] v1 ©2006 www.coxtracts.com
This tract can be freely photocopied
(see website for restrictions and MSWord DOC copies)

The Bible presents that there is only one God, but that this single God exists in three persons which have an intimate relationship between the three persons. The Bible clearly indicates that the Father is God, the Son (Jesus Christ) is God, and that the Holy Spirit is God. There is no confusion of the persons (each is separate from the other two), nor division of the substance (even being distinct persons there is still only one God). Furthermore there is not more than one God. The resolution of this conflict is made through a teaching of the Trinity.

Submission and Head Coverings

1 Corinthians 11:3-16 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

The Church is built on foundation of Evangelism

Matt 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Jesus declared his mission to be building up the church, and nothing will stop that, nor will anybody stop it. He emphasized the importance of the work of God, represented by the gospel and the organization of the saved into local churches. There are two strings in this, evangelism, and then the building of the saints to do the work of God. Christ will do it with us, through us, or without us. We want to be used by God in this His most important work. Continue reading
