Sexual Purity – Joseph and His Difficult Life

In this Sunday School Class, Joseph and Sexual Purity, we study the life of Joseph, looking at his purity of spirit in the face of sexual temptation. His attitude is especially important, as he did not get discouraged, nor did he seek vengeance against the evil that his brothers did to him.

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; Ecclesiastes 12:1

The Rock group called “The Suicide Girls” make money by promoting the concept of suicide. In fact, there are fads among our youth like the Emus which also promote this concept among our youth as something great. These elements are floating around among our youth which glamorize suicide, such as a game where they hang themselves in their closet, and then remove the rope before actually dying to see how close to death they can get. Many times, they err and die before they can free themselves. The culture among these groups is a study of suicide to worship it and promote suicide pacts making it romantic and desirable.

ch44 Why we don’t charge for Ministering

Why we don’t charge for ministering

Matt 10:8 freely ye have received, freely give.

Part of the instructions that Jesus gave his disciples was to not put the Gospel or ministering on a give-if-you-pay basis. Serving if somebody pays, and not if they don’t is to commercialize the ministry. The principle behind this phrase, “freely ye have received, freely give.” is that everything we do in the ministry for God should be free, and should be given irrespective of financial giving by who gets the benefit of that works. God designed the ministry in such a way that the spiritually mature brethren pay for things, they teach the financial obligation to give to the spiritually immature, but leave giving as a free-will activity free of coercion or pressure. What cannot be done that way, should not be done at all.

We should seek our reward from God in heaven. When a people are unthankful, and finances don’t come in to support something, it should be stopped.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither… nor revilers (foul-mouthed* or abusive person)shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

*A foul-mouthed person is someone who reviles or verbally abuses other people, hurling aggressive, abusive foul language.

We are not saved because of the works we do, but sin is what sends us to hell. What defines a child of God is that he has submitted to His will (essentially repenting of his sins and receiving Jesus as his Savior), and lives seeking it throughout his life (Matthew 7:21-23). Obedience distinguishes salvation, defines it. The vulgar mouth is an abomination to God, so much so that there will be no revilers in heaven.

1 John 3:8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Jan 3:3 Jezi reponn li: Sa m’ap di ou la a, se vre wi: Pesonn pa kapab wè Pèyi kote Bondye Wa a si li pa fèt yon dezyèm fwa. 4 Nikodèm di li: Ki jan yon nonm ki fin granmoun ka fèt yon dezyèm fwa? Li pa ka tounen nan vant manman l’, pou l’ fèt yon lòt fwa ankò. 5 Jezi reponn li: Sa m’ap di ou la a, se vre wi: Pesonn pa ka antre nan Peyi kote Bondye Wa a si li pa fèt nan dlo ak nan Sentespri. 6 Lachè soti nan lachè, lespri soti nan Lespri Bondye.

Jezi te anseye nesesite esansyèl pou yon nouvo nesans, ki se nesans espirityèl chak moun pou wè delivrans Bondye, epi lè yo mouri yo pral viv nan paradi nan syèl la avèk Bondye. Si ou pa fèt ankò, ou pral ale nan lanfè. Nesans sa a se yon chanjman espirityèl pou kòmanse yon relasyon ak Jezi (Sovè pou rachte). Ou fè li konfyans epi aksepte li kòm Sovè ou Si ou pa fèt ankò ou p’ap ale nan syèl la.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Many people think that they are not so bad that God would send them to hell. “I am not bad really, so why would God treat me like that? No, God is not a person to do such a thing” they say.

Our situation before God is not one in which we heap all the evil we do on one side of a scale, and all the good on the other side, and whichever is heavier or more decides where our eternal destiny will be. Our eternal fate is not decided this way!

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

For only one single sin, God will send the person to hell. People go to jail for only a single infraction of the law. The same is true when dealing with God.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them

Voodoo is a belief and practice that really comes from Catholicism, mixing Christianity with African religions. They worship objects from the land, rivers, woods, etc. Catholicism, supposedly, is based in the Holy Scriptures of the Bible, but Catholicism was formed by taking beliefs and practices from paganism, and changing the names of pagan gods and persons, and using in their place names from the Bible. If a Greek god, Zeus, is called “God” (theos), that does not make him the God of the Bible. What they have is barbaric. Many practice voodoo yet still consider themselves “good Catholics,” and voodoo does not hinder their “Catholicism”. Voodoo is involved with magic, mediums, and necromancy, all which are highly condemned in the Bible. (In Cuba and other places, it is called “Santeria” and in Brazil, “Candomblé”.)
